GMO Humans

By The Voice of Russia | Genetically modified food not surprise anyone today . The situation is different with men and genetically modified animals that are just emerging biological laboratories. These creatures may completely change the world in which we live. What these chimeras are capable and have they a threat to humanity? Why scientists are they trying to interfere in the genetic code of living organisms and change it? Zoologist Dmitry Issonkine his point of view on this issue in an interview with Voice of Russia. “There may be many answers to this question. First, researchers continue their scientific interest in understanding the process of formation of embryos and cells , as well as the possibility of linking two different genetic codes them . Second, the medical aspect is not negligible . Researchers want to find a way to fight against the incurable diseases using DNA codes of foreign organisms that are resistant to a particular disease. Finally, such experiments could be profitable from a commercial point of view to the future, because the organs of animals could in principle be grafted and transplanted into humans. ” However , as is the case for GMO products , genetically modified organisms could pose a threat to humanity. All these experiments in genetic engineering should be subject to very long tests to understand the reactions of the body of a living being in the presence of foreign cells. And if all experiments are being conducted on laboratory mice are of whose life expectancy is not very long and on which we can observe qualitative changes in their body for several generations, it is more difficult to conduct such observations on humans, whose life expectancy is higher. Under the legislation , all ” hybrid chimeras ” should be destroyed within two weeks after birth . But how can we understand the influence of modified genes to subsequent generations ? The government deliberately prohibited conduct background research on the intersection between humans and animals. It probably exists only on paper. What is it really? One can only speculate on how to operate closed laboratories. But there’s no doubt that if these labs create hybrid resulting from the crossing of genes, they do not destroy them after two weeks. For researchers, the interesting part of the observations begins at puberty , when the characteristics of these organisms change . It is at this point we can observe the behavior of genes in more mature , and attempting to engage a cross between two hybrids. These crossing experiments genes are as illegal as the cloning of human beings. And such experiences can indeed go very far. Thus, the magazine Cell Research , published by the Institute of Cell Biology Shanghai and the Academy of Sciences of China, recently raised a successful partnership between a man’s genes and a rabbit crossing. To conduct this experiment , the researchers released the eggs of a female rabbit of their DNA by introducing the genetic code of a human. In all, 400 embryos were obtained from this experiment, and researchers have extracted from embryos of stem cells for subsequent experiments . The embryos were then destroyed . The researchers plan to build again in the future a series of hybrids based on the DNA of humans and other animals. It is unclear what the outcome of these experiments . It is not known how long the ban on this kind of manipulations with the genetic code of living organisms. For if these experiences are legalized and the creatures from these experiences living among us , our world will change dramatically. And you will take the bus to go to work , you will see a man – pig, a goat – man or man -ass .
